Today is tomorrow.

That was my first thought upon arriving in Tokyo.

A young family walked a few steps ahead of me when they noticed a single cigarette butt someone had carelessly left behind. Without hesitation, they stopped, picked it up, and placed it in a trash can. I looked around, the street was otherwise immaculate. One tiny blemish, quietly removed. No spectacle. No judgment. Just care.

It was one of many small yet meaningful acts of presence and respect I would witness on this journey. I felt as though I had stepped into another dimension, one that moves at a different pace. A pace that doesn’t rush, yet never resists what needs to be done.

Peace finds me more often now than it did when I filmed this short, one‑minute cinematic snapshot. Everywhere I looked, I felt emotion, not loudly expressed, but deeply held. Subtle. Grounded. Alive. It moved me. I could see without my eyes. I felt stillness and motion coexisting. A quiet acceptance of what has been, and what is — now.

Hope was there too. Soft, but unmistakable.
Not something to grasp, something already present.

I thought of the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, one of my greatest inspirations. His composition “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” has always moved me, not with sorrow, but with strength, hope, and an unwavering forward motion. I’ve long dreamed of working with him to compose the music for my first feature film. Though we lost the gift that was the Mr. Sakamoto, the vision continues to guide me, shaping the way I see, feel, and create.

What I know now is this: letting go of past hurts, whether distant or recent, creates space. And in that space, peace returns, not as an escape, but as a foundation. Peace pays dividends when we stop chasing and start listening.

Whatever you feel called to do in your life, do it. Now.

Learn the skill. Make the call. Take the trip. Begin the film. Take one peaceful step at a time toward what feels true. Trust that when your movement aligns with your purpose, the right people, timing, and opportunities will meet you exactly where you are.

Peace is priceless.

And here I am — grateful to know it intimately, guided by faith, moving at its pace.

Today is tomorrow.
